High-end hotel with a restaurant, plus gender-segregated bathhouses featuring castle views.
A lovely hotel with warm staff and a great location. The breakfast buffet was the best breakfast we had in Japan. It was beautifully presented and stocked with local Kanazawa cuisine.

Stayed 2 nights here. It is about a 20 minute walk to the train station but it is centrally located to some of the main attractions. The room was clean and had a nice view, especially from the laundry/onsen floor. I meant to check out the onsen but we were too busy during our stay. Our first night, we ended up staying in and doing laundry as we were about halfway through our trip. There were other people doing laundry as well. We kept attempting to do ours, but the dryer wasn't drying properly, so the guests had to run the dryer multiple times. We were finally able to get the clothes done after 9pm, but we had to hang dry anything around the room that wasn't dry so we could go to sleep. The lobby is attractive and the staff is friendly and helpful. They called us a cab the morning we left. The lobby has a dining room that offers buffet meals, but we did not dine here.

Breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of both western style and Japanese dishes.Lobby smells so good. What scent do you use?Room is clean and comfortable. Public bath is a nice asset.Front desk staff are and helpful. Would recommend this hotel. My only critique would be that there is not enough serving staff during Happy Hour. The staff that is available are doing their best and are friendly and helpful.

Facilities were great! It was clean and new. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable. Their buffet breakfast was amazing too. We loved our entire stay here.I would avoid using the laundry machines. We did and it took about 3 hours to wash and dry and the clothes were still damp after drying for over 2 hours! Not worth it!

Art pieces need a dust… just kidding. The place is immaculate and comfortable. You are welcomed with warm smiles and clean rooms. Great spot in town close to everything you want and need. Thanks for facilitating a fantastic visit to Kanazawa.Edit: forgot to mention the amazing onsen.

Absolutely loved this hotel; the staff always greeted us warmly and were quick to help with anything. Definitely opt in for the breakfast, there's a great spread of different local specialties and teas. The room was spacious, modern and clean. As others have mentioned in reviews, there is a slightly offputting smell from the bathroom pipes but the room spray was fine to neutralise it.The public hot bath was fantastic. Best to go at a quiet time during the day when you can enjoy the view. My only feedback on using the hot bath is there was a list of 'what not to do' attached to the door, but a list of preparation steps would have been more helpful for a first-timer e.g. leave your clothes and belongings including your towel in your locker, you only need to take in your locker key, and to wash your body before entering the hot bath to keep it hygienic.

My favorite hotel of my trip. Perfectly located in Kanazawa to visit the main sights on foot or to take city buses to get around, this hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is very welcoming and super helpful (they called a taxi for me to get to the station on the day of my departure).Additionally, guests at the hotel have access to a public bath that is a gift after a day of walking the city’s beautiful gardens! The women’s bath faces east so I would also recommend a sunrise bath for any fellow early risers, I had the place all to myself to enjoy a hot bath with the sun rising over the mountains with gentle music playing in the back. Is there a better way to start the day?In fact there is! Pair the sunrise bath with the hotel’s fantastic breakfast and you are set for your adventures in a way that I haven’t been anywhere else. The breakfast has so many options that even a vegan like myself had plenty of choice and left full. Each dish had clear markers of the allergens it contained. Please stay here if you are in Kanazawa! Honestly, I wished I had stayed longer just to be in this hotel longer.

Enjoyed my short two day stay. Perfect location to explore the city. Hotel is closed to many major attractions. Kanazawa city also has a tour bus route that connects the attractions.Room is large and new and top floor public bath is a treat. The “nearly vacant” indicator from TV was off as there were about 10 people in the bath when I went in. Other than that, would stay here again next time I visit the city.

Sadly, despite the promise of this hotel, the service and hospitality we received were just underwhelming. We deposited some clothes for laundry service, which includes washing, drying and folding. We received the clothes the next day, so we can pack before leaving on the upcoming morning. While sorting the clothes, more than a few items still had stains (deodorant and some sweat & food stains) - mainly around the stitches. When I went to see the front desk they wanted to see the dirty items. After showing them 4 different items (we had a much larger total load), they told me they needed a moment to think of a solution.3 hours later they came to the room to tell me in person that their laundry sheet states they cannot be blamed for any washing issue. So no solution, no sympathy, no customer service and no decency to at least refund us for the service we didn't receive.Worse part - Landry cost us more than the entire stay (2 nights).I am in the hospitality business myself and have never seen such a lack of effort in resolving a client issue.I will definitely not stay in this hotel, or others by the same group.

Great hotel, tidy and clean, with friendly staff and 5 star amenities. Twenty mins walking distance from the train station in a quiet and safe location. The breakfast buffet is amazing with great variety from both local and international cuisine. They also offer a Japanese menu breakfast at an outside location in the food market which is available till 2pm, so you can actually go there for lunch.Overall, great deal.

Super Hotel in super Location. Very friendly staff and very good breakfast.Nice hot bath on the 13th floor. Just some foreigners don’t know that they have to clean their body before entering the bath and there is no sign informing them. So they use the bath uncleaned. Very unhygienic!I hope they put up a sign!

Lovely and beautiful accomodation with a public bath overlooking an immense green forest of waving trees. This was my first ever public bath experience and yes you can wear tattoos as long as they're covered. Reception was generous to provide coverings. I forgot my room number on the way back and reception came to save me. Dressed in my spa wear, I was embarassed but staff were professional and obliging. There is a lovely dinner option here. Short walk to the gardens and castle. Oh, the unforgettable smell as you enter, I suppose it's incense, very pretty. It's been too long and I don't remember breakfast.

Enjoyed my stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa. It was a short one night stay in a comfort twin room. The room was clean, quiet, and the air conditioning worked well. Hotel staff at the front desk were friendly. This hotel was in a great location, close to sight seeing areas and was only a 20 minute walk away from the train station.

Comfortable mid-tier Japanese hotel. We found the room spacious for a couple and enjoyed the L13 hot bath. Busy hotel when we stayed but staff were helpful and considerate. Nice breakfast included with plenty of options.

A great hotel, nice spacious rooms in a good location with a lovely top floor Onsen. My only minor issue is that it's impossible to access the staircase so even though we're staying on the 2nd floor you feel like you spend a lot of time waiting for a lift!

Hotel is close to train station, very clean and roomy. The first room given to us had a sour smell and was promptly replaced to another which was much cleaner. The traditional breakfast is excellent. Would fully recommend

Very nice hotel. Very close to Omicho Market. Walkable to Oyama Shrine and Kanazawa Castle Park. Kenroku-en is a bit far to walk to but still doable. Buffet breakfast is very good with many local specialties such as oden, jibuni, and curry. Public bath is nice and enjoyable. Highly recommend the excellent quality and service of Mitsui Garden hotel.

Hotel has all the basic facilities and amenities required for a basic stay. However, room is quite dated. Check-in was swift. They don't have a concierge counter or anyone apart from the front office staff to assist with enquiries or tours. That means you will need to queue at the front office line even to ask simple questions such as directions. Onsen was good - no frills and a cosy size. Don't expect service to go above and beyond though. Felt more of a 3-star than a 4-star accommodation.

Nice little place that’s reasonably priced and in a great location in Kanazawa.I made a silly error with my booking, and the staff called me about it and helped me correct everything. I really appreciated that! The room is also very cozy and I slept comfortable. The only things I didn’t like - the toilet emitted a sewage a smell (a smell that I noticed at the park too, so it must be a city-wide issue), the dryer didn’t dry my clothes, and the cleaning chemicals used in the tub caused horrible itching on my feet.

For the price, this is fantastic. It honestly should be a 4 star hotel. The rooms are quite roomy by Japanese standards. The staff here is incredible! So polite, helpful, and just amazitat making you feel welcomed.Breakfast here was my favorite in Japan! It was so good, with so many options, both Japanese and western. Such a lovely dining area, and again, the food was just amazing. The last thing I will gush about is the Onsen that is open ALL NIGHT. I was suffering from Jet Lag and found myself awake at 3am. I went up to the Onsen and had it all to myself. Along with a absolutely gorgeous view of Kanazawa at night. They also have the most COMFY lounge set for you to wear. I literally want to reach out and ask where I can buy it, because it was so comfortable.Kanazawa Station was less than a 15 min walk from the hotel and the fish market was only a 19 min walk. We honestly were able to walk to all the historical sites easily. And of course, the luggage forwarding. This was invaluable during our trip and the staff at the front desk helped me out andade it as easy as possible fore to ship my luggage to my next hotel.Thank you so much for such a wonderful and welcoming stay!
