PM Lawrence Wong's Cabinet reshuffle was announced on May 20, 2025.
The last reshuffle was in 2024 when PM Wong first took over the PM role from now-Senior Minister (SM) Lee Hsien Loong.
With this reshuffle, there have also been quite a few promotions and changes at the Minister of State (MOS) and Senior Minister of State (SMS) levels.
The new appointees will be sworn in on May 23, 2025.
Who got promoted
Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, 56, who was previously MOS for Home Affairs and National Development, was promoted to SMS for Home Affairs, and will be Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs.
Sun Xueling, 45, who was previously MOS for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development, was promoted to SMS for National Development and Transport.
Murali Pillai, 57, who was previously MOS for Transport and Law, was promoted to SMS for Law and Transport.
Baey Yam Keng, 54, who was previously Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and the Environment, and Transport, was promoted to MOS for Culture, Community and Youth.
New faces
David Neo, 47, will be Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and SMS for Education.
Jeffrey Siow, 46, will be Acting Minister for Transport, and SMS for Finance.
Dinesh Vasu Dash, 50, will be MOS for Culture, Community and Youth, and Manpower.
Jasmin Lau, 41, will be MOS for Digital Development and Information, and Education.
Goh Pei Ming, 43, will be MOS for Home Affairs.
From Feb. 1, 2026, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, 44, will be MOS for Foreign Affairs. He was a Member of Parliament, but not an office holder prior to this reshuffle.
Moves
Janil Puthucheary, 52, who was previously SMS for Digital Development and Information, and Health, is now SMS for Education and Sustainability and the Environment.
Zaqy Mohamad, 50, who was previously SMS for Defence and Manpower, is now SMS for Defence and Sustainability and the Environment
Koh Poh Koon, 53, who was previously SMS for Sustainability and the Environment, and Manpower, is now SMS for Health, and Manpower.
Gan Siow Huang, 51, who was previously MOS for Education and Manpower, is now MOS for Foreign Affairs, and Social and Family Development.
Alvin Tan, 44, who was MOS for Culture, Community and Youth, as well as Trade and Industry, is now MOS for National Development.
Desmond Choo, 47, who was Assistant Secretary-General for the National Trades Union Congress, is now MOS for Defence.
Who is leaving
Amy Khor, 67, who was SMS for Sustainability and the Environment, and Transport, had announced that she was stepping away from politics back in April this year.
Heng Chee How, 63, who was SMS for Defence, had also announced his retirement from politics during the GE2025 period.
PM Wong, during a press conference for the Cabinet reshuffle, expressed his thanks to Khor and Heng for their service:
"Both always just focused on serving and getting the job done. They never sought credit or fanfare. They are true servant leaders as well as role models and inspiration for younger members of the team."
